Langley “Moonbeam” (Nivour de Cardonne x PTF Lady Wiking)

Langley joined our farm on December 24, 2015. So fitting as the Christmas full moon shined down upon our new horse with the beautiful blaze, he gained his barn name, Moonbeam. He is the half-brother to Full of Fiesta out of Nivour De Cardonne. Langley was bred by Cre Run Farm and was a successful flat track horse.

Moonbeam is half brother to our Full of Fiesta. He is son to the European racing champion Nivour de Cardonne and his dame is a daughter of racing legend Wiking.

As a flat track horse Langley competed in 2011 and 2012.
Race Starts: 11
Firsts: 3
Seconds: 3
Thirds: 1
Total Earnings $28,212 (previous owners, not us!)

In 2016 Moonbeam completed 3 limited distance rides and in 2017 at Broxton Bridge Plantation he earned his endurance wings by completing a 50 mile race. In 2018 he put in a strong showing earning a Top 10 finish and missing Best Condition by a point  at the Biltmore Estate. He takes care of himself on the trail, always one to eat and drink when offered.

Sadly in July 2019 Moonbeam suffered an accident with someone we let ride him. He was hospitalized at NCSU for 2 weeks and then began a long 6 month recovery with us at home. On Christmas day he rejoined his herd and will occasionally gleefully gallop around the pasture. We hope that someday he can return to endurance and the trails that he loves.
